My Forest Canopy has been done for over a week. I had a slow Sunday yesterday so I took the time to finally block it. For some reason, blocking this project was exciting for me. I positioned my fan in front of it so it would dry quickly.
I am pleased with this project. It's a small shawl but that's okay. I'd like to make another one for my mom but using twice the yardage. This one takes around the same yardage as the Ishbel. The smaller Ishbel is 330 yards while this one calls for 325.
I couldn't see myself in a brown shawl at first and considered giving it away but I'm keeping this baby.
I completed the body of my 'Yoke Pullover' early last week. I really like the way the Fisherman's Wool knits up. With the brown no longer being in skein form, I can see the possibility of an attractive sweater on the horizon. I've regained respect for the brown. I will begin the sleeves later this week and once those are done the excitement begins. I have not figured out which colors will go where for the yoke. I'm still thinking that through.
So, if all goes as planned, later next week I should be done with both sleeves and happily working on the fair isle portion.
That's the plan anyway.

The shawl came out so pretty.
Congratulations on finishing your first shawl. Blocking is the most exciting part of the whole deal - it's the first time you get to see what you've really made.
I'm so glad you gave the brown a shot.
By the way - i forgot to tell you the shawl is beautiful.
Pretty, pretty. Not only did you survive your first lace shawl, it was done with speed.
That's beautiful! Make one to give away won't you?? then fix the contest so I win?!
Your shawl is stunning...I can see why you are keeping it!!

Gosh, the shawl is fabulous! I've never made one, but if I could get it to turn out as good as what you made, I'd give it a try!
The shawl is amazing. I wish I could do lace.
Can't wait to see the fair isle part of the sweater.
I've tagged you with an award on my blog!
Beautiful shawl! It's inspired me to get busy on the one that got set aside while moving this summer. If I were you, I'd certainly keep it too!
