Okay, so mentally the ‘moving thing’ was not as slight as I thought it was going to be. I’d convinced myself that all of the work is in the physical part of the move. Wrong! I am not be the superwoman I thought I was. Though all went smoothly and now with the majority of things in their designated places, I have to admit the move shook my world.
The Corner…
At my old cramped place there were few windows which made it feel even more cramped. I kept to one corner knitting feverishly day after day, I watched television in that corner, wrote and read in that corner. I never thought of that corner as sad until today. Now I can pick almost any spot where I am now to set up my mannequin to model my projects. Even old project photos were taken near that corner.
I'm still working on on perfecting this type of picture.
Here is the old photo, not really bad just dank.
What was habit before in the old place is no longer. I still awake very early but am doing different things with my mornings and my extra time. Instead of awaking to coffee and knitting, I am sitting out on the deck with coffee and magazines or newspaper. I don't feel that heated need to complete my projects.
Seems that now with much more space, more windows (who doesn’t love natural light), I’m doing many more things. I’m thinking of picking up sewing again, I’m purchasing more cookbooks (ha! as if I need them) especially from resale shops.
I’ve been been cooking like crazy and with the new spacious kitchen, I’m gourmet cooking again. In the last two weeks I made a shrimp/beef sausage/chicken jambalaya, a beef strudel, a spinach lasangna and night before last I made a curry chicken dish. I would have taken pictures but the meals were eaten very quickly and were not exactly photogenic.
Lately knitting is done as an afterthought. You know; “Oh, I should do a few rows today.” I have to say that this is so not like me. Sometimes I feel as though I’ve stepped into someone else’s life or schedule or perhaps this is how I really am, a leisure knitter. It’s all very nice but very unproductive where knitting is concerned. I’m waiting for that fire or should I say I’m waiting for my full mojo to return. He has made slight appearances in the past few weeks leaving me with the completion of small projects like hats but no real desire has set back in.
This yarn is ogled at before and after work
One thing that has not left is my desire for new yarns. I have the Maiden Silk Camelspin that friend Gale sent me a while ago. I have it sitting right on my dresser and I’ve contemplated many projects.
Boucle' in Terra Cotta
I have a new Hand Painted Claudia Boucle’ which may be done into a simple shawl. I've purchased a few Noro’s but have no idea what these will be knitted up as. It's not uncommon for me to stop by my LYS without any project in mind and pick up a Noro or two just because they are pretty. It's hard for me to walk by any Noro. Since my desire and passion for yarns is still with me then my knitting mojo follow.

Glad to see you posting and good to hear fro you again. Your mojo will return. Its just getting used to the digs. Enjoy your deck, before long you'll be knitting on the deeck! What's the pattern for the sweater on your dress form? It's pretty, I might like to try it.
I'm sure that once you get really settled, you'll find yourself sitting on your deck in the early morning, with coffee and knitting. That's what I do almost everyday. Either knitting or spinning. I's very calming for me to start my day . Sometimes, I just taken my coffee!
It's good to see you here. It looks like the move has been good for you. Since your old place was so dark, perhaps you needed the knitting more. And by the way, what time's supper? I'm hungry for some spicy something...
It`s so good to hear from you again.
It takes time when moving.
And yes everything is so simple and easy in mind- takes much more strengh in real life.
Sounds like you enjoy your life very much-- and I get hungry too-- and sadly too many hr. for lunch...
enjoy your knitting-- it is summer, and when fall comes there probably will be more "power" on.
Looks like through it all you have accomplished a lot. I'm looking forward to another visit and a sample of one of your carib dishes.
Your making me hungry all the meals your making sound wonderful and I love the sweater:)Hugs Darcy
Sounds like you new place is heavenly :) I don't blame you one bit for doing other things and changing your routines. I've been in a funk lately with knitting AND blogging, too. Not much going on here in the way of motivation. Hoping to rectify that soon....
When you do find time to knit...happy knitting :)
