Nothing Too Exciting...

This weekend I window shopped at the mall to check out spring/summer clothes. I saw quite a few slacks and tops I’d like but, they must go on sale first before they can make my closet their home.

I was gifted sock yarn this weekend from Sasha (a blogless friend). She bought me three skeins of Deborah Norville’s SERENITY yarn. It’s 50% superwash wool, 25% bamboo and 25% nylon. Okay, that works for me.

It’s a striped yarn so I immediately hunted down the diagonal or zigzag patterns. I began the Jaywalkers. This pattern has always been a favorite of mine but I am not sure whether I will keep knitting it with this yarn. The yarn is pretty enough, perhaps not with this pattern. I could complete the socks seeing as I have done knitted Jaywalkers before.
I will think on it for a few days.

Regrets...

I ordered SHI BUI Sock yarn a week ago. I purchased one skein in this midnight blue. I only needed a little bit of merino sock yarn for a bi-colored project. As soon as I opened the package and held ‘Sock’, I knew I’d made a mistake. This yarn is sooooo beautiful, I mean really, really beautiful. I should have purchased an additional two skeins for a pair of socks. One skein is only 191 yards.
Oh, I think sometime soon I’ll be posting pictures of my SHI BUI ‘Sock’ socks!

Contemplation…

I have 3 skeins of Knit Picks Shimmer to make a shawl. It’s just over 1200 yards which gives me many choices. The color is Fennel (sort of a green/brown) which will fit into my fall wardrobe perfectly.

Fennel is not a color that I would normally buy. I tend to knit a lot of projects in grays or blues. Every now and then a bright color will sneak in. I’m happy to incorporate Fennel in.

It’s a welcome change!
