Two FO's and a Little Voodoo

Well, here's my Back-To-School Vest. We all know the vest and most of us love it. This is a very easy, quick pattern and lots of fun to knit.

I love the garter ribbing and that hugging waist line is ingenious. Even on a day when my belly is poofier than usual, this vest makes me look good.

I have sworn to myself after each project that I WILL make another one. My redoing a pattern doesn't happen too often (except with the Calorimetry, I made 3). I would like to knit up another one by fall.

I looooooooooooove this vest !!!

Brown Sheep Lambs Pride Worsted in Mulberry - Size 5 and 7 Needles

This is the Passerby Hat designed by one of my favorite designers, Smariek. Now when I first saw her featured hat, I thought it looked sort of like a muffin. You know how that goes though, of course it always looks wonderful on.

This is another stashbuster. I had one skein of blue variegated Lion Wool and wanted to make a more
unique project. Smariek is always dead-on with all of her patterns. They are always quick and different. So, here is my Passerby Hat.

Oh, did I mention that I Love it, love it, love it !!!

What's This About Voodoo ???

Erica is the Creator of the wonderful Treesweater Pattern. Check it out, it's adorable and after all, every tree SHOULD have a sweater. Now Erica has recently come up with another brilliant idea. She is knitting emotions into swatches, Voodoo Swatches she calls them. I'm sure many of us knit or craft emotions into our work anyway. This is a condensed version though.

You can't see it but a bit of stress was knitted away with size 8 needles into Wool of the Andes (Tidepool Heather)

I'd had a really hectic weekend and when I got up for work (around 5am), I began swatching. I'm Now I'm not saying that this swatch took away 100% of my stress but it definitely helped. Also, it's just a really cute idea.

What's Next On My Knitting Agenda...

I am using scrap yarn for these Nordic mitts. I hope to complete them soon.

I am just okay with these colors. I would have loved to knit the snowflake in something a little brighter (like peach) but I'd have to buy more yarn for that. Perhaps later.

I like the idea of stress swatches. I'll have to try it. I like the vest too. I don't know if I'll try it though. I'm not sure how it would look. I've got a bit more than a pooch!

I have seen this vest in person and it doesn't look easy. I'll leave those circular projects to the better knitters. The hat is adorable and as for the Voodoo swatch; I may be knitting one everyday.

I wasn't familiar with this pattern and I had to head over to Ravelry to see what it looked like "on". Now that I've checked it out it looks pretty good! I'd like to see a pic of you wearing it :)
Nice job and congrats on the FO! It always feels good.
