Before 2012 Ends...

I thought I'd sneak in this one last post.

How has everyone been and Happy Belated Holidays to you All !  I had a relatively quiet Christmas Eve and Christmas.  Yes, I was working.  I work midnights so it wasn't so bad.

Considering how much has changed work-wise in my life this past year I'm surprised I got in any knitting or blogging at all.  I had to knit though because it's one of the few things that keeps me sane.  You know how that is.

I remember telling myself the beginning of 2012 that I was going to straighten out my blog.  Work on the format.  I wanted to create a way to have my FO's link to another page so the list wouldn't be so long.  Didn't get to do it.  No worry though because I actually sat down last week and drew out the entire plan.  I plan to start on that project early January 2013 before I get too bogged down by my classes.

I did pretty good for the gift giving this year though.  I made a few items but bought some really nice ones.  So, I wasn't too stressed and everyone was really understanding as to why they weren't receiving a hand knitted gift this year.

You remember the hat and scarf I had made for my Mom.  Would you believe I ended up NOT giving it to her.  Yes, I was in Belk's (it's like Macy's down here in the south) and saw the prettiest cream colored Isotoner Hat.  Then a few steps from that I found a cream colored silk fringed shawl.  That was that.  I put the knitted items away.  Crazy I know but I'll use them as gifts for next year.  My daughter is trying to get the hat from me but gosh !  Seems like she gets almost every hat that I make.  At this point, I am two holiday gifts ahead of myself !  As we say on FaceBook...  Whoo-Whoo !

Lately I've been working on this cowl for my son.  I just put a bunch of stitches on size US 7 needles and started knitting.  You can't tell from this photo but it's a little different from my cowl pattern.  I'm actually finished with it and am now working on a hat for him.  It's not his Christmas gift.  He's about to travel to a cooler climate and you know how us Mother's are.  We worry are concerned about our children getting cold no matter how old they are.

I will be posting photos soon.

So to all of you, enjoy your New Year's Eve and Happy New Year.  I'll talk with you soon !

Happy New Year! I've just started a cowl for my son too with the exact same specifications--cast on for a while and then start ribbing, ha, ha. I hope you get more time to knit this year. I've been kind of in a slump with my knitting lately, but cold weather is encouraging me a little.
