Sometimes It's The Little Things...

Okay, upon receipt of my Knitpicks catalog I usually scan it for new patterns then set it in my catalog pile. I have to say the new fall issue really had me excited. The excitement did not come from any of the new patterns but from the color charts.

I think Knitpicks really did it this time! They hit the nail on the head with photos that are close to a 100% match of their yarns (this is my opinion anyway). Did anyone notice this? -- I have a lot of the Palette yarns and when holding them next to the fall photo, they match almost perfectly. Wow! The same thing for photos of the Andean Treasure, Wool of the Andes, Shine Worsted and others. I am really impressed!

I have always wanted the color cards and planned to purchase them, I never had the willpower to get them. That’s right, I said willpower. Let me explain. -- We all know the color cards are only $1.99. For all the years I almost bought them, I could probably had them ten times over. Every time I do a Knitpicks order and write down the color cards on my little 'to purchase' list, just as I am about to tell the customer rep about the color card the purchase just never happens. The thought of the $1.99 spent on a color card is pushed back. I always think to myself;

“Why should I get a color card for $1.99 when I can get a Pallet or Wool of the Andes for the same price? They are the same price. Heck, I can’t knit with a color card but I sure can with an extra skein of yarn!” Happens every time.

This isn't the best photo of a photo but believe you me, the colors are wonderful !

Over the last couple of years I have entered a few contests offering Knitpicks color cards but have never won. I know, this is sad. There are moments when spending $30.00 and up for a skein of yarn was a real pleasure yet I will not purchase a little $1.99 color card.

Finally A Selbu Modern

I have wanted to make this hat since the pattern came out. I mean, who doesn’t love the Selbu Modern? Well, I love it and I finally started it Sunday Morning. The yarn and colors are Knitpicks Palette in Calypso Heather and Cream. I can't say for sure, but I think a pom-pom might end up on top of this baby!

Also, thank you all for your kind thoughts, comments, cards and gifts in regards to my dad. Much appreciated !!!

Luv, luv, luv !

Too funny! I wrote and told my daughter the same thing about the catalog as she had not yet received hers.

Love those items on the right on your home page.

I thought the same thing when I got my Knit Picks catalog. Plus, their prices stay so reasonable too.

I fell in love with those Andean Chullo hats on the back cover of this catalog. My kit arrived the other day and I can't wait to start!
