A Better Place

I had not mentioned this to you but it’s going into the third week now since my Father’s passing.

I was grateful and happy that my Aunt Velma was the one to call me from Atlanta to give me the news. I took it like a trooper, turned things around and began asking her how she was doing and told her to call me if she needed to talk. Shedding of tears has been less than sparse on my end. I am still numb, still in shock.

One of my best friends in Detroit of 33 years became very upset with me because he did not think I was grieving. Is there a proper way to grieve? I don’t think so, it has to be an individual experience wouldn’t you say? In any event, my friend is disturbed by my calmness and actually found grieving counselors in Georgia and had them call me. I appreciate his concern.

I’d recently received a beautiful strand of pearls and was saving them for a special occasion. I imagined that occasion to be a dinner or theater date. I don’t mind that my first wearing of the pearls was to see my dad off.

I won’t say much more in this post except that I may be ready now to take some real time off of work and I may not post for a while.

You understand I’m sure.

Aw, I'm so sorry. Don't let anyone tell you you're grieving the wrong way, that's just crazy. It's a very individual experience.

I am praying for you and your family and I'm sure you are grieving. Take your time.

Sorry for your loss. We all have our own way of grieving and your friend should not have imposed her views onto you. Take care and do come back soon to blogland!

I'm so sorry to hear of your fathers' passing. Grieving is a very personal thing so we each go through it differently. Take all the time you need and be gentle with yourself. ((Hugs))

So sorry to hear about your father's passing! Everyone grieves in their own way. I didnt cry during my dad's funeral last year and people thought that was weird. Heck, everyone reacts differently to every situation! Grieve your way and remember there are tons of friends & family around if you need them.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Of course grief is a very individual thing, so follow your instinct on what you need and where you are.
Thoughts surround you!

I can understand what you are going through, and I think you are healing in your own way and time. It took me awhile to get through my dad's passing.
We all need a break now and again. Just keep us posted. You will be in my thoughts♥

Sorry to hear about your loss......still numb, still shock, and awaiting the moment where you are able to consciously let go, I imagine.

Take your time.
