Blocked To Imperfection

I spent most of yesterday evening knitting up this Cherry Garcia for my good friend Ken in Michigan. I used my Knitpicks Wool of the Andes in Lake Ice Heather (I doubled the strands).
About 1/2 of the way through, Ken called and asked if I would please make the cowl wider at the top to accommodate his thick and curly beard. Okay I told him, no problem.

I was not sure if I should just start over or add increases as I moved upward or change to a larger needle. I changed from the 16 inch #11 circulars to a 24 inch #11 to stretch out the top a bit more. I learned from a previous (bad) experience years ago to knit with the proper length circular and what happens when you don't.

This worked and the cowl was more open at the top. I stretched the top out a bit more with the blocking.

I've already e-mailed Ken these pictures and he says "Perfect" !
