Well, here are some semi decent photos of my "Bird In The Hand Mittens". They are all done and entered into the NaKniMitMo2010 KAL. Today is the last day as you probably know.
The grey/taupe and the turquoise yarns are Scottish Campion that was gifted to me a while ago. I don't think it is made any more. I don't have a lot of it but I have quite a few colors that can be used for more mittens. My gauge was spot on so I used the size 3 needles the pattern called for. If ever I do these again, I will use a size four.
The purple is KnitPicks Palette in eggplant. Looking at this particular photo, the second bird doesn't look like it has a beak but it does. I should have straightened the mitten out better. I'm not so much the photo taker.
These mittens are going to my daughter. She fell in love with them and wants a hat to match.

I don't know why I like the inside of the mittens so much. As you can see, I opted to leave the 'bird' out of the hand. I just didn't care for it.
Blue
Here are final photos of the blue mittens I completed a couple of weeks ago. This set is also going to my daughter.
Lately, she is asking for whatever I have on my needles. So funny !
Prizes, Prizes, Prizes...
The first prize going to Jody is one skein of Malabrigo Lace in Shocking Pink.

Jody is also receiving three skeins of Universal Yarn Ditto sock yarn. I recall the color as Purple Cascade or something like that. I was going to send only two skeins but decided on three because a little bird told me that Jody is known for making a particular scarf out of lots of sock yarn. So... just in case, I sent three.

I have a few colors in this yarn. I should be churning out socks for my son soon.
Second Prize for Nik is two skeins of Knit Picks Shimmer yarn. The color is Fennel.

This is an alpaca/silk blend and it's really, really, really soft !
So to Jody and Nik, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy !!!

Lucky daughter! I love my hand-knit mittens - they have kept my hands nice and warm this winter, but the design I used was very easy compared to yours! LOL. Very nice! Cheers! Evelyn
