Happy March to Everyone !

I have not posted for over two weeks. I thought about posting many times but just couldn't do it. The last time I posted, I was in a bit of a slump; a knitting slump that is. Well, I pulled myself up and feel much better. I’m awake ! I’m alive !

Now I won’t tell you that a lot of knitting was done. In fact, I hardly knitted at all.
Isn’t life gratious and generous in that we can always start over !

I knitted up this hat some weeks ago and finally blocked it last night. I made it to go with the heart mittens (still to be blocked). I have oogled over this hat for months and swore I’d make it. It’s called My Rose Red by Knitti-Christie. -- I just love this little pattern.

Initially I thought I’d make it for myself. I never planned on using red (not one of my favorite colors) but, it is one of the few fair isle hats with hearts that is a quick knit. Also, the needle and gauge size were close enough to my mittens.

The last time we spoke, I discussed my search for a simple shawl for the busy sock yarn I’d selected. I chose the Simple Yet Effective Shawl by Cosmic Pluto. There are approximately 220 yards in each skein of the Ditto yarn and I’m down by 7/8ths of a skein already. I’m using a size 7 needle so what I have now is close to the size of an Ishbel size shawl. I have two more skeins but may only need to knit just one ; unless I want a larger shawl. As you can see, the colors are very fall-like. I’ve been working on this shawl during rides in the car, my lunch hour and as I’m watching movies. I’m in no rush to complete this. I may put it down and pick it up right before the fall in case I need to change my knitting mood by working on a lighter color to put me in a spring/summer mood. I’m very happy with the shawl and I may even keep it for myself.

So, that's all for now. I hope to post again by either this weekend or very early next week !

Thanks for your patience.
